Un hogar en el norte de España A home in the north of Spain

Hace ya unos meses que vi por primera vez esta preciosa casa en la revista El Mueble, aunque no la había visto publicada hasta ahora en su sitio web. Desde el primer momento que la vi me enamoré. Está rehabilitada en un estilo muy inglés que le da un carácter especial. Totalmente decorada con una uniformidad y consistencia impecables, con blancos grises y negros como constante. Sus paredes han sido decoradas con papeles decorativos de diferentes diseños que hacen del conjunto de la casa un lugar realmente acogedor.

I'd seen this gorgeous house a few months ago in El Mueble magazine, but I hadn't found it on their online magazine until now. I fell in love since the first time that I saw it. It has been renovated in a very English style, that give a very special character to this Spanish house, located in the north of the country. It's been decorated with a great consistency, in white grey and black as a constant. Its walls have been decorated with beautiful wallpapers in different designs and the result is a stunning and very cosy home.

Buenos días! ¿Qué tal el fin de semana? El mio fue estupendo. El sábado llovió todo el día; yo tengo mi plan particular para los días lluviosos: repasar antiguas revistas de decoración, aquellas que compré hace ya 2 ó 3 años, todavía con buenas ideas, pero que habían quedado ya un poco olvidadas en las estanterías de mi estudio. El domingo volvió a salir el sol y nada mejor para un día de domingo soleado que pasear por el mercado de antigüedades y artesanía de la ciudad. Pasé el día entre artesanos, artistas y anticuarios así que esta semana vuelvo cargada de nuevas ideas. ¿Y vosotros? ¿Qué hicisteis este fin de semana?

Good morning! Did you have a nice weekend? I did! Last Saturday was pouring almost all the day; I have my own plan for rainy days: to go over all my old decoration magazines, those ones that I bought 2 or 3 years ago, still with good ideas, but that they have been forgotten in the bookcases of my home office. The sun came back on Sunday, and the perfect plan for me for a sunny Sunday is to go to the antique and craft markets in the city. I spent my day among artists, craftsmans and antique dealers, and I am back to my blog this week with thousands of new ideas to inspire you! What about you? Lo mejor de Casa Decor en Madrid The best of Casa Decor in Madrid

Del 20 de mayo al 20 de junio Casa Decor estará en Madrid y yo voy a perdérmela! El motivo es que no me encuentro en España en estos momentos y Casa Decor es la exposición internacional dedicada a la decoración contemporánea más importante que celebra en el país. Pero afortunadamente tengo buenas amigas que han hecho todo un reportaje fotográfico a los espacios de la exposión y gracias a ello he podido ver y vivir la exposición desde la distancia.

Muchos no podréis asistir a esta cita tampoco así he traido las fotos de la exposición a mi blog, para compartirlas con todos vosotros. Espero que os gusten tanto como a mí. Y si os encontráis en Madrid y no tenéis planes para este fin de semana, pues aquí tenéis una idea: daros un paseo por Casa Decor y contadme que os pareció el lunes.

From May 20th to June 20th Casa Decor will be open in Madrid and I am going to miss it!!! The reason is that I am not in Spain at this moment... and Casa Decor is the most important international expositions dedicated to contemporary decoration that takes place in Spain. yearly. But luckily I've got good friends who have visited and taken pictures of the exposition and thank to them I have also seen and lived the event from the distance.

Érase una vez una casa sencilla, luminosa y muy cálida. El blanco y la madera natural son los protagonistas de esta casa de estilo campestre. Tiene sin duda el carácter del estilo nórdico y la calidad de un hogar familiar.

Hechos con tela de saco Made of coffee grain sack fabric

La semana pasada encontré en el blog Colorín Colorado unas preciosas sillas renovadas con tela de arpillería y laca blanca. El resultado además de original es también 100 % chic campestre. Me gustó tanto la idea que esta semana he traido el tema a mi blog: decorar con tela de arpillera (tela tradicionalmente utilizada para fabricar sacos de patata o café).

Last week I found some gorgeous chairs in the Colorín Colorado blog renovated with hessian fabric and white paint. The result is not only original but also 100% country-chic. I loved the idea so much that this week I've brought the issue to my blog: decorating with hessian -burlap in U.S.- (fabric used traditionally to make coffee grain or potatoes sacks).

La tela de arpillera:

• Es perfecta para renovar tapicerías de sillas o sillones antiguos o crear pantallas de lámparas o cojines de con aire francés muy vintage.
• Se puede combinar con fibra, madera lacada o forja.
• Puede integrarse en ambientes de estilo rústico, campestre o incluso industrial.

Hessian fabric:

• It's perfect to renovate chair or armchair upholsteries, or to make lamp shades or cushions with a very vintage french look.

Hace mes y medio que tuve que dejar atrás en España mi Dolce Gusto, y una de las cosas que más estaba echando de menos cada mañana en mi nuevo hogar es el aroma del café recién hecho por las mañanas. Pero ayer me regalaron una estupenda máquina de café y me hicieron la persona más feliz del mundo. Hoy he comenzado de nuevo mi lunes con una taza de delicioso café espresso y mis blogs favoritos. ¡Las mañanas saben tan bien!

It's been already a month and a half since I had to leave back in Spain my Dolce Gusto, and one of the things that I was missing in my new home is the coffee aroma every morning. But yesterday I got a new fabulous coffee machine y I was the happiest person in the world for a while! Toda I have started my Monday morning with a cup of delicious coffee, espresso, and my favorite blogs. Mornings taste so good again!

El amarillo está muy de moda dentro de esta combinación y le da a conjunto un aire muy moderno y minimalista. I love black and white interiors, and they are also perfect to combine with a third color. Yellow is probably one of the most in-fashion colours at this moment and gives to the whole room a very modern and minimalist look.
