¡Mi blog superó las 10.000 visitas!My blog is over 10.000 visits

Cuando registré el domino www.chic-deco.com en marzo del año pasado me propuse como objetivo alcanzar las 10.000 visitas en un año. Cuando todavía queda un mes más para cumplir el año, estoy contentísima de decir que mi blog ya alcanzó las 10.000 visitas al mes!

Eso significa que unas 400 y pico personas visitan ChiDecó cada día, y unas 3.000 y pico cada semana!

Este año mi blog cruzó el mundo conmigo y lo traje desde Madrid, España a Perth, Australia. Me ha acompañado cada día y me ha puesto en contacto con gente maravillosa.

Esta entrada es un enorme GRACIAS a todos los que leéis, participáis y contribuís con mi blog cada día!

• A los que habéis participado con vuestros comentarios e emails, y traído nuevas ideas a mi blog.

When I got the domain www.chic-deco.com in March last year my aim was to get 10,000 visits per month in less than a year. Today it’s still one month to go and I’m very glad to say that my blog already got 10,000 monthly visits!

That means that more than 400 people visits my blog every day and more than 3,000 people visit my blog every week.

This year my blog crossed the world with me and I brought it from Madrid, Spain to Perth Australia. It has accompanied me every day and has put me in contact with wonderful people all over the World.

This post is a big THANK YOU to all those people who visit my blog every day, participate and contribute with your comments and ideas.

TRUCO 2: EL ENCANTO PERSONAL

Se ha perdido ya la cuenta de los millones de blogs actualmente existentes en la blogosfera. Es casi imposible diferenciar unos de otros y casi todos los blogs acaban pareciendo un poco 'más de lo mismo'. A pesar de ello, de vez en cuando se cruza en tu camino un blog que tiene algo diferente y especial. Casi darte cuenta te has enganchado a él y se convierte en uno de tus blogs favoritos.

Tengo una lista reducida de blogs que visito cada día y son la base de mi inspiración. Todos ellos son diferentes entre sí, pero tienen algo en común que los hace diferenciarse del resto en la blogosfera: son blogs con historias personales que enganchan, divierten, emocionan e inspiran.

¿Será este el secreto de los blogs sobre estilos de vida?

Existen muchos blogs impersonales, llenos de imágenes, sin consistencia, que sólo buscan publicar un gran número de contenidos de manera rápida para estimular la visitas. Y luego existen también unos pocos blogs estupendos, escritos por gente creativa, imaginativa y divertida. Es gente que comparte un pedacito de su vida con sus lectores en la red, y crean un vínculo emocional con ellos. Esos son mis blogs favoritos.

Consejos para hacer tu blog genuino y personal

• Define bien tu estilo personal selecciona siempre temas, contenidos e imágenes que vayan con tu estilo propio.
• Busca inspiración en lo que vives, descubres y aprendes cada día y escribe sobre ello.
• Crea contenidos e imágenes para tu blog que sólo tenga tu blog.
• Nunca copies un post de otros blog. Si has encontrado un post estupendo en otro blog y quieres compartirlo, crea un teaser explicándo de que va el post y por te ha gustado especialmente y enlázalo.

TIP 2: THE PERSONAL CHARM

We lost count of the number of blogs that there are currently active in the blogosphere. It's almost impossible differentiate one from another, and almost all blogs end up seeming pretty much the same. However, every now and then you find a new blog that has something different and special, and after a few visits, you are hooked on it and it becomes one of your favourite blogs.

I have a very small number of blogs that I usually visit almost every day and they are my inspiration source. Those few blogs are different among them but have something in common that make them differentiate in the blogosphere: they are blogs with personal stories that hook on, amuse, excite and inspire.

Is that the secret of life-style blogs?

There are lots of impersonal blogs, full of images, with no consistency, that just want to publish content quickly to stimulate visits. And then, there are a few wonderful blogs, written by creative and amusing people. These people share a piece of their lifes with their reader in the Internet and create an emotional bond with them. Those are my favourite blogs!

Tips to make a genuine and personal blog:

• Define your personal style and select only themes, content and images that better match with your style.
• Find the inspiration in your personal life, in what you live, find out and learn every day, and write about that.
• Create original content for your blog with images that only your blog can offer.
• Never copy a post from another blog. If you found a fantastic post in another blog and want to share it, make a teaser explaining what the post is about and why you specially like it and link it.

Esta casa publicada en la revista canadiense Style at Home, antes de convertirse en hogar era un simple granero. Sus actuales propietarios descubrieron el encanto de este granero y lo reformaron para construir en el su hogar. Una perfecta combinación de materiales naturales, como la piedra y la madera, y una decoración actual crearon un estilo rústico moderno en el interior. Puedes leer el artículo completo aquí.

This house published in the Canadian magazine Style at Home, it was a barn before turning into a pretty home. Its current owners found out a lot of charm in this barn and they resconstructed to make a modern home. Hola amigos! Hoy no tengo que ir a trabajar! ¿porqué? Por que es fiesta!!! Para los que os habéis enganchado hace poco a mi blog os cuento que hace ya casi un año me trasladé de Madrid a la costa oeste de Australia! Así que hoy estoy celebrando mi primer día de Australia! Qué emoción!

Hello my friends! Today I don't have to work! Why? Because today is a public holiday!!! To those ones who have been reading my blog since not long ago I'll tell you that almost a year ago I moved from Madrid to the Western Australia! So today I'm celebrating my first Australia Day! How exciting!


No es que yo tenga un profundo sentimiento patriótico después de haber estado casi un año viviendo en Australia, pero si de celebrar algo se trata, yo me apunto la primera!

Mientras yo me voy a ver los fuegos artificiales os dejo con estas bonitas ideas de decoración para el día de Australia. Qué estéis donde estéis, hoy tengáis igualmente un día estupendo.

It's not really that I have a deep patriotic feeling after almost a year living in Australia but when there is something to celebrate I'm the first one to be there!

Me encanta esta casa de estética industrial! Blanca y llena de luz, con detalles metálicos para darle ese look industrial y mucha madera natural para hacer los ambientes más acogedores, es simplemente perfecta! El suelo de cemento pulido, la pared de ladrillo visto y las ámplias ventanas negras le dan un caracter único a esta casa publicada en la revista Style at Home.

I love this industrial style house! It's white and full of light, con some metal details to get that industrial chic look and natural timber to create a cosy interior inside, it's just perfect! The polish croncrete floor, brick walls and black windows give a unique look and feel to this house published in the Style at Home magazine.

I love this photo shot from Ashley Meaders' website, a creative event designer. It's lovely colourfull picnic in the country in the sunny summer, with refreshing drinks, delicious sandwiches and lots of healthy fruit! Oh, yeah, I love outdoors weekends in the country!

Cómo hacer un sencillo y precioso arreglo floral How to make a gorgeous and simple flower arragement

Desde que quité el árbol de Navidad el salón me parece vacio, aburrido... como que le falta algo... ah sí! ya sé! Aquí faltan flores! Quitas el árbol y hace nuevos arreglos florales para el salón, ¡claro! Así que buscando ideas he ido a dar con este precioso y sencillo centro en las páginas del catálogo de Sía. Lo han hecho con anémonas pero también dices que lo puedes hacer con amapolas! En cualquier caso me parece un centro perfecto para el invierno.

Para este centro se han utilizado anémonas, tallos de sauce blanco, bloques de espuma floral y cubos de hielo de imitación para darle ese toque de invierno. Ahí va la explicación gráfica de como hacerlo paso a paso!

Since I put away the Christmas tree my living room looks quite empty, boring... it's like... something is missed here... Oh yes! Flowers are missed! If you put away the Christmas tree, you have to bring new floral decoration to the room, isn't it? So I've been searching some new ideas for this season and I've found this beautiful and simple centerpiece in the pages of Sia catalogue. They have used anemones but they say you can also use poppies! In any case I think it looks fantastic and it's perfect for winter.

Revistas para el fin de semana Magazines for the weekend

Es invierno, hace frío, hay que recuperarse de las fiestas navideñas,... ¡cualquier excusa es buena para planear un fin de semana tranquilo en casa calentitos! Y para ello, no hay nada mejor que hacerse con unas cuantas revistas para leer bajo la mantita. Aquí os dejo los dos nuevos números de las revistas online Adore y Lonny para que no tengáis que salir a la calle a comprar revistas. Ahí fuera hace demasiado frío!

It's winter, it's cold outside, we need to recover from the Christmas parties,... Any excuse is good to plan a cosy and relaxing weekend at home! And for that kind of weekends, a good collection of our favourite magazines to read under the blanket is a must! I leave you the two last issues of the Adore and Lonny magazines so that you don't need to go out and buy any magazine in the news agency. It's too cold out there!

El último número de esta revista de decoración y live-style australiana salió online en Diciembre de 2010, aunque no he podido traerlo hasta ahora, ya que el mes de Diciembre fue dedicado exclusivamente a la Navidad en mi blog. Pero todavía queda un mes para disfrutar de la revista Adore, eso sí, aquí en Australia es verano y está cargada de ideas de decoración para el buen tiempo, pero también podemos inspirarnos ¿no?

The latest issue of the Australia home and life-style magazine went online in December 2010. However I couldn't bright it last month as I dedicated my blog to the Christmas decoration exclusively in December. The good news is that we still have a month to enjoy the Adore magazine, but, as you already know, here in Australia is summer and this magazine is full of outdoor summer ideas, but we can get inspired anyway, can't we?
