Hola amigos, buenos días! Hoy he decidido comerzar la semana con un desayuno de deliciosos churros! Los churros son un popular desayuno que tradicionalmente muchas familias en España desayunan cada domingo desde hace muchos muchos años. No son dulces por lo que suelen acompañarse con azúcar y servirse con chocolate para mojar.
Mi abuela vivía al lado de una churrería donde se hacían los mejores churros del pueblo. Así que tenía el privilegio de desayunarlos cada día que me quedaba a dormir en su casa. Ahora que no vivo en España estaba echando de menos desayunar cada domingo mis churros. No es que no haya churrerías en Australia, que las hay, y hacen unos churros casi tan buenos como los de España, pero son terriblemente caros!
Así que no tuve otro remedio que aprender yo misma la receta y hacerme mis propios churros. La receta original no lleva canela ni huevos, pero esta es mi receta (no sé si mejorada) que a mí personalmente me encanta porque hace los churros un poco más ligeros. ¿Tenéis listos los delantales? Pues manos a la masa!
Ingredientes
- 150gr. de mantequilla
- 1 taza (250 ml.) de agua
- 1 taza (250 grs.) de harina
- 3 huevos
- Azúcar: 4 cucharadas soperas (aproximadamente)
- Aceite vegetal para freir
Preparación
- Poner agua y mantequilla en un cazo pequeño y llevarlo a hervir. Cocinar, removiendo durante 3-4 minutos o hasta que la mantequilla se derrita. Retirar del fuego.
- Añadir el harina y la sal y remover con una cuchara de madera hasta que se forme una masa homogéna que se despega de los lados del cazo. Cubrir con plástico de envolver y dejar reposar 15 minutos.
- Añadir los huevos, uno a uno, batiendo bien cada vez que se añada uno, hasta que se forme una masa homogenea. Poner la masa dentro de una manga pastelera con una boquilla de unos 2cms de diametro y forma de estrella de varias puntas.
- Añadir aceite en una sarten grande hasta alcanzar una profundida de unos 5cm. Calentar a 180º a fuego alto. Hacer churros de unos 10cm de largo, cortándolos con un cuchillo y ponerlos a freir en el aceite. Freirlos hasta que se doren. Después sacarlos del aceite y ponerlos sobre un plato con un papel de cocina para que absorban el aceite.
Para la presentación: mezclar azúcar y canela y expolvorear los churros con la mezcla. Servir con chocolate para mojar.

Hello lovelies, good morning! Today I'm starting my week with a delicious breakfast with churros! The churros are a popular breakfast that many families in Spain have had at their home every Sunday since a long long time ago. They are not very sweet, so they are usually serve with sugar and cinnamon and dipping chocolate souce.My grandma used to live next to a churros shop, where they used to make the best churros in the town. So I was a very lucky girl who got to have them for breakfast every day I slept over. Now that I'm not living in Spain anymore I was terribly missing my Sunday churros breakfast. It's not that we don't have churros shops in Australia, we have plenty, and they make churros almost as good as in Spain, but terribly expensive!
So we had to learn the recipe and make them ourselves at home (no one in Spain makes their churros at home, I think), and then John came with his lovely recipe. The original recipe doesn't have cinnamon or eggs, but this is our recipe at home, that I personally love it and I think John's recipe is much better than the original one because our churros are lighter. So are aprons ready? Then, let get the party started!
Ingredientes- 125g butter, chopped
- 1 cup (250ml) water
- 1 cup (150g) plain flour, sifted
- 3 eggs
- Vegetable oil, to deep-fry
- 1/3 cup (65g) sugar
MethodCombine water and butter in a medium saucepan and bring to the boil over high heat. Cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until butter melts. Remove from heat.
Add the flour and salt and stir with a wooden spoon until well combined and the dough comes away from the side of the saucepan. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 15 minutes or until cool.
Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition, until well combined. Spoon dough into a piping bag fitted with a 2cm-diameter fluted nozzle.
Add enough oil to a large saucepan to reach a depth of 6cm. Heat to 180°C over medium heat. Using a small sharp knife to cut the dough, pipe four 10cm lengths into the oil. Deep-fry until golden brown. Transfer churros to a plate lined with paper towel.
For presentation: mix sugar and cinnamon and dust the churros with the mix. Serve the churros with cholate dipping sauce.
