Zara Home trae una preciosa línea campestre de colores cálidos (coral y rojos) y tonos fríos (aqua y verdes), combinados con neutros blancos y grises. Although red, blue and green is a traditional country combination, the result of this combination in their spring-summer collection looks more classic-chic than country, but I still love the visual effect that red brings on a neutral and cold palette.

Estoy absolutamente enamorada de este diseño de Belle and Boo llamado 'El desfile de la boda real', e inspirado como no, en la boda del año! Se trata de una ilustración de aire vintage para habitaciones infantiles que ilustra unos niños jugando al desfile real que tendrá lugar el día de la boda. La ilustración está decorada en tonos azules, rojos y blancos, característicos de la Union Jack inglesa (la bandera). Es monísima!

I've absolutely fallen in love with this design from Belle and Boo, The Royal Party Parade, inspired, of course, in the wedding of the year! It's a lovely illustration with vintage style for children's bedrooms, with little kids playing to the royal parade that will take place in the wedding day. The poster is decorated in blue, red and white colours, typical colours from the Union Jack. OMG, it's so cute!

Esta semana todos tenemos una cita para celebrar el evento del año: la boda real! Y aunque yo no estoy muy puesta en el mundo del corazón, si de celebrar se trata, yo me apunto la primera. Un simple paseo por las páginas web de las tiendas inglesas sirve para darse cuenta de que 'ei, aquí algo pasa'. Todas están vestidas con los colores nacionales de la Union Jack y repletas de ideas para decorar una fiesta al más puro inglés. Pues suena divertido, ¿no?

This week all of us have an important appoitment to celebrate the event of the year: the Royal Wedding! And although I'm not really very interested in gossip, if we have to celebrate something, you can count on me! Just a quick look at the British websites this week to realise that 'something is going on'. All of them are coloured in red, white and blue and full of ideas to decorate a party in an English style. It sounds like fun, innit?

Un delicioso desayuno sabroso A savory delicious breakfast

Hola amigos, ¿Cómo fue la Semana Santa? Yo hoy estoy teniendo un día extra de vacaciones! Y me encanta pensar que esta semana será muy corta! Bueno, hoy como aun es fiesta he comenzado la semana con uno de mis desayunos favoritos: huevos benedictinos! Y aunque nunca pensé que un desayuno salado pudiese convertirse en uno de mis favoritos (pues a mí me encanta tomar una buena dosis de azúcar para comenzar el día), lo cierto es que siento debilidad por ellos.

La receta es bien sencilla: una tostada, jamón de york o salmón, un huevo escalfado y mucha mucha salsa holandesa! Delicioso!!! Bueno, venga, ahí va la receta:

Ingredientes para 4

• 8 huevos
• una pizca de sal y pimienta negra
• 8 lonchas de jamón de york o salmón
• una barra de pan
• 50g de mantequilla

Fácil salsa holandesa

• 200g de mantequilla sin sal
• 3 yemas de huevo
• 1 cucharada de zumos de limón
• 1/2 cucharadita de sal o al gusto
• 2 cucharadas de agua caliente
• Pimienta negra granulada al gusto

Pasos

1. Precalendar el grill y poner papel de aluminio en la bandeja del horno.
   

2. Escalfar los huevos (poner cada huevo a hervir en agua fuera de la cáscara)

3. Poner el jamón en la bandeja del horno y hornear durante 4-6 minutos o hasta que quede crujiente.
   

4. Poner el pan en el bandeja del horno y hornear hasta que se tueste. Después untar con mantequilla.
   

5. Poner el pan tostado en un plato y el jamón por encima, después el huevo y finalmente cubrir con la salsa holandesa. Salpimentar y servir.
   

Para hacer la salsa holandesa:

1. Derretir la mantequilla en una sartén pequeña a fuego lento. Poner la mantequilla en una jarra resistente al calor y limpiar cualquier residuo en la mantequilla.
2. Mezclar las yemas de huevo, el zumo de limón, sal y 2 cucharadas de agua caliente y batir hasta que la mezcla quede uniforme y espesa.
3. Añadir agua caliente para aligerar la salsa ligeramente. y salpimentar.
4. Llenar un cazo grande con agua hasta la mitad. Poner la salsa en un cazo pequeño y poner el cazo pequeño sobre el cazo grande sin que toque el agua. Añadir la mantequilla a la salsa sin parar de remover.

Hello my friends, how was the Easter weekend? I'm still having today an extra day off! And I'm loving thinking that this week will be a very short week! Well, today I started my week with one of my favourite breakfast recipes: benedit eggs! I never thought that a savory breakfast could be one of my favourite ones (as I like starting my days with a good sugar dose), but I love them since I found out them in Australia!

The recipe is quite simple: a toast, ham or salmon, an egg, and lots and lots of hollandaise sauce! Yummy! Well, here is the recipe:

Ingredients (serves 4)

• 8 eggs
• Pinch salt and pepper
  
• 8 slices ham or salmon
• 1/2 baguette (French stick), thickly diagonally sliced
• 50g butter
  

Easy hollandaise sauce

• 200g unsalted butter
• 3 egg yolks
• 1 tbs fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
• 2 tbs hot water
• Ground black pepper, to taste

Method

1. Preheat grill on high and line a baking tray with foil. Poach eggs.
   

2. Place the ham speck on the lined tray. Cook under preheated grill, turning once, for 4-6 minutes or until crisp.

3. Place the baguette slices on the lined tray and cook under preheated grill, turning once, until toasted. Spread with the butter, if desired. Turn the grill off and cover the bread with foil to keep warm.

4. Place toasted bread on serving plates and top with ham and eggs. Stir hollandaise sauce and drizzle over the eggs. Sprinkle with pepper and serve.

To make the easy hollandaise sauce:

1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Use a metal spoon to skim any foam from the surface. Pour the clear yellow butter into a heatproof jug. Discard milky residue.
2. Place egg yolks, lemon juice, salt and 1/2 the hot water in a blender. Blend on high until mixture is pale and thickens slightly.
3. With the motor running, add hot butter in a thin, steady stream. Add remaining water to thin the sauce slightly.
4. Season with pepper, and extra lemon juice and salt, if necessary.
5. Half fill a large bowl with warm water (if water is too hot, the sauce will curdle). Pour sauce into a small bowl and place in the large bowl.

Fuera de España la decoración de Pascua es alegre, campestre, familiar y muy hogareña! Leyendo y leyendo, hoy he conocido el trabajo de dos diseñadoras australianas que se dedican al diseño y elaboración de letras y números de preciosos diseños coloridos con diversas aplicaciones: palabras para decorar, nombres para habitaciones de niños, números para puertas y entradas, y muñequitos para las puertas de los baños. Ellas son las manos y el alma de Mooza Designs.

Reading and reading, I found out today the work of two Australian designers dedicated to the design and creation of letters and numbers in beautiful colorful designs with different uses: words to decorate, names for children's bedrooms, numbers for doors and entries, and wc-signs. They are the heart and soul of Mooza Designs.

Todos los diseños son realizados a mano a partir de una base de acrílico, forrados con un papel decorativo y luego sellados con una capa gruesa de resina, lo cual crea el efecto de azulejo cerámico. A mí me han encantado, ¿y a ti? Ay, que bonitas... os dejo... pero yo me quedo aquí mirándola un ratito más.

All their designs are hand crafted from an acrylic base, topped with unique paper & sealed off with a thick resin coating (this can create an effect of a ceramic/tile). I'm loving them, do you like them too? Sigh, they are so beautiful... I let you go... but I'll stay here looking at them for a little while.

Hola amigos, ayer estuve toda la noche preparando el plato estrella de la Semana Santa: las torrijas! Y es que este sencillo dulce hecho a base de pan, leche, huevos, azúcar y canela es el plato más popular de las mesas de la Semana Santa española. Es superf'ácil de cocinar y muy económico, y no hay quien se resista a una torrija en este fechas. Estoy segura de que en España nadie necesitará saber la receta de las tradicionales torrijas, pero para aquellos que visitáis mi blog desde otras partes del mundo, aquí os dejo un receta gourmet de torrijas caseras. Sirvanse con helado o nata.

Hello folk! How was your weekend? Yesterday I spent my evening cooking 'a must' in Easter in Spain: the torrijas! This simple and easy sweet made with bread, milk, eggs, sugar and cinnamon is the most popular dessert on the tables during the Spanish Easter. It's very easy to make, and also very cheap, and there is no one who can resist to this sweet temptation. Ok, here is my gourmet recipe:

• loaf pan thick slices (the thicker it is, the better)
• lemon or orange rind
• sugar
• 2 eggs
• cinnamon stick
• 2 cups of milk

Directions:

1. In a large saucepan, put the milk, the cinnamon stick, the lemon/orange rind and 2 spoons of sugar.
2. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Remove the cinnamon and the lemon/orange rind. Then let cool down until warm.
4. When warm, add the bread, soak well and set aside.
5. Beat the eggs and dip the bread in the eggs for both sides.
6. Add oil to a pan fry the bread until slightly browned. Let it cool down.
7. Make a mix of sugar and cinnamon and dip the bread in the mix.
8. Serve with cream or ice-cream.

Hoy he encontrado esta imagen en el blog Botton Brown y la verdad es que me ha encantado. ¿Cómo puede ser que ese salón lleno de juguetes parezca tan lindo y ordenado? Mamás, ¿es eso posible? Pues bien, analizando bien la imagen he llegado descubrir unos cuantos trucos para que los juguetes de los pequeños se integren en la decoración:

• Compra peluches de la misma paleta de cromática (véase en la imagen todos blancos y marrones)
• Escoje madera natural en todos los juguetes de tus hijos (véase en la imagen la bicicleta de madera, por ejemplo)
• Esconde los que no peguen con la decoración en cestos (véase en la imagen la rana que intenta escapar del cesto a la derecha)

Si sigues estos consejos no tendrás que preocuparte por ordenar el salón demasiado, los juguetes quedarán perfectamente integrados en la decoración.

I found this image today in Brown Botton blog, and I just loved it! How is possible that that living room, full of toys everywhere, still looks so nice and tidy? Mums, is that possible? After analysing the image, I finally found out a few tips to integrate your children's toys in the decoration of the living room:

• Just buy cuddly toys with the same colour palette (see example in the imagen, all toys are white and brown)
• Choose just natural timber for your children's toys (see timber bicycle)
• Hide those other that just don't match with the decoration (see flog trying to escape from the basket at the right of the image)

If you folow those simple tips, you won't need to worry about tyding up the living room anymore, the kids' toys will look perfectly integrate with the decoration.

¿Bañera clásica o banera moderna? Yo siento debilidad por las clásicas bañeras francesas. Quedan tan bien! El problema es que comienzas a decorar tu baño con una bañera francesa y tienes que continuar con una grifería acorde, una mesita auxiliar vintage, una lámpara de araña,... y al final acabas redecorando el baño todo a juego con tu bañera francesa... hmmm... ¿debería poner una?

Jo, con lo bonitas que son todas las cosas que tienen en Impressionen y sólo tienen la web en alemán! Así sólo me entero de los precios! Ahora van y sacan la colección de adornos de Pascua más bonita de la red y ya han acabado de enamorarme del todo! Huevos decorados y lindos conejitos al más puro estilo campestre para darle a la Semana Santa un toque de color.

La Semana Santa en España ha sido tradicionalmente triste, una época de luto y procesiones. Pero en muchos otros países europeos, americanos y e incluso aquí en Australia, predomina la tradición de los coloridos huevos de Pascua. Nunca me he aclarado si esta tradición tiene un origen cristiano o no, ¿alguien sabe de donde viene la tradición de los huevos de Pascua?

They have now launched the pretties Easter Egg collection in the Internet and I've felt totally in love with it! Decorative eggs and cute rabbits, in such a lovely country style, to put a colourful touch at home.

Easter is traditionally a sad, dark time of the year, to remember the passion and death of Christ. But in many other European and American countries, and even here in Australia, the Easter Eggs tradition is more popular. I never got to know whether this tradition has a Christian origin, does anyone know where this tradition comes from?

Hola amigos. Parece que la Semana Santa no llega nunca, pero ya está cada día más cerca! Además este año, la Semana Santa y el día de la Madre llegan todos juntos. Tenemos tantas cosas que preparar! Bueno, pues vamos allá.
