Esta casa de campo canadiense se diseñó mezclando el estilo rústico tradicional con un sofisticado estilo de loft moderno. El resultado: una actual y acojedora casa de campo para disfrutar de la paz y la tranquilidad del campo en los días de verano, en la preciosa isla canadiense de Prince Edward. Descubrí esta casa de campo en la revista Style at Home.

This Canadian country house was designed with a mix of a traditional country style and a modern and sophisticated loft living style. The result was an modern and cosy country home to enjoy the calm of the countryside life-style in the summer days, in the Canadian beautiful Prince Edward island. I found out this gorgeous country house in Style at Home magazine.

El exterior de la casa recuerda a los antíguos graneros rurales. La fachada se realizó en madera lacada de color cereza y se completó con detalles en blanco y un tejado de teja negra; la combinación de madera natural, blanco, negro y color cereza son también constantes en la decoración interior de la casa. La casa fue distribuida en tres plantas: en la planta baja se ubica el solarium para disfrutar del sol en verano; en la primera planta están el resto de las zonas comunes de la casa y las habitaciones se situaron en la buhardilla. Me encantaría tener un refugio así en mitad del campo para los días de verano.

The house seen from outside looks an old granady. The wood-paneled walls in the facade were lacquered in a cherry color with also other details in white plus a black roof. Natural woods, white, black and cherry are also a constant in the decoration inside the house. This is a three story house; the solarium is in the ground-floor, to enjoy the sunshine in summer; the common areas are in the first floor and the bedrooms in the attic. I'd love to have such a beautiful house somewhere in the middle of the countryside to enjoy the summer days!

♥ Ains.... ♥ Si es que MiCasa es una de mis revistas favoritas por algo... ¡Qué preciosa habitación para niñas han publicado este mes! Toda blanquita y rosita, con su preciosa cama con dósel muy coqueta, y además su vestidor y baño integrado. Es delicada y sencilla. Me encanta el puf y los cojines de pelo y el conjunto de perchas con forma de árboles. ¿A qué es encantadora?

♥ (Sigh...) ♥ Rooms like this one are the reason why MiCasa magazine is one of my favorite magazines... What a beautiful bedroom for girl they have published in this month issue! White and pink, with a beautiful canopy bed, and also a walking wardrobe and bathroom inside the bedroom. It's delicate and simple. I love the fluffy bean bag and cushions, and also the tree coat stand. Isn't it lovely?

Sydney y el Festival de los Aromas Sydney and the Aroma Festival

Hola a todos! Ya estoy de vuelta en casa (eso es ahora y de momento, en la costa oeste de Australia). Como ya comenté el viernes, el fin de semana fui a visitar Sydney, y ahora es sin duda una de mis ciudades favoritas del mundo! Me encantaron sus calles, su color, su gente, su aroma. Y hablando de aromas, el domingo pude hacer en Sydney unos de mis clásicos de domingo favoritos: los mercadillos domingueros! Y es que Sydney celebraba este fin de semana el Festival de los Aromas. ¿Os imagináis un mercado de aromas? Pues sí, así es, calles enteras perfumadas con el aroma a café, chocolate, té y especias de cuatro partes del mundo diferentes: Europa, Asía, Sudamérica y Oriente Medio. Degustaciones y todo tipo de delicatessen para acompañar. Todo un placer para el olfato y también para el gusto!

Hello everybody! I'm back at home (that is now the WA). As I comented last Friday, I spent my weekend visiting Sydney and now it's one of my favorite cities in the world! I loved its streets, its color, its people and its aroma. And speaking of that, last Sundy I could do in Sydney one of my favorite classic activities in the Sundays: the street markets! Sydney celebrated last weekend the Aroma Festival. Can you imagine an aroma market? Yes, that is, streets smelling to sweet aromas like coffee, chocolate, tea or spices from four different parts of the world: Europe, Asia, Southamerica and Middle East. Tasting and all kind of delicacies. It was such a pleasure for the sense of smell and also for the taste!

Disfruté tanto el domingo que hoy he traido a mi blog una recopilación de fotos del Festival de los Aromas, con algunas mías degustando y comprando todo tipo de delicias sin parar.

I enjoyed so much the visit to the festival that today I brought to my blog a collection of pictures from the Aromas Festival, with some of my pictures tasting and buying all kind of delicacies.

En cuanto al resto de mi fin de semana, que más puedo decir, Sydney es espectacular, y nada parecido a lo que los europeos estamos acostumbrados a ver en Europa. Pasé el resto del fin de semana visitando a la preciosa ciudad, disfrutando de deliciosas almuerzos en las terrazas de Darling Harbour, cenas-crucero, compras sin parar, y largas noches de fiesta y diversión. Ahora ya estoy de vuelta a la realidad, pero vuelvo con las pilas cargadas y la cabeza llena de más ideas creativas que os van a encantar! Hasta mañana!

About the rest of my weekend in Sydney, what else can I say? it's just that Sydney is fabulous and nothing similar to Europe, and to all those things that us European people are used to seeing in our European cities. I spent the rest of my weekend visiting that amazing and gorgeous city, enjoying lunch in Darling Harbour, dinner in a cruise, shopping and late nights out partying. Now I'm back to the reality, but I'm full of energy and my head full of new ideas that you are going to love!!! See you tomorrow!!!

La vida en una caravana cirquense en la Provenza Life in a circus caravan in Provence

Un artículo en una revista inspiró a la firma sueca Gudrun Sjoden a iniciar su propio viaje por el todo el campo de Saint Rémy, en la Provenza francesa, de un modo muy singular: en fantásticas caravanas cirquenses. El corazón y el alma de estos projectos son Madame & Monsieur Bayol, dos artistas que se han hecho de su modo de vida renovar viejas caravanas y crear diferentes ambientes dentro de ellas para convertirlas en unos hogares nómadas muy especiales.

An article in a magazine inspired to the Swedish company Gudrun Sjoden to start their own journey all over the countryside outside Saint Rémy in Prevence, in a very special way: in fantastic circus caravans. The heart and soul behind these projects are Madame & Monsieur Bayol, two artists who have made it their life's work to renovate old caravans and create different enviroments inside them to transform them in very special nomadic homes.

Toda la gama de rojos, naranjas, amarillos y turquesas de la colección de textiles de hogar de Gudrun Sjoden eran perfectos para decorar interirores y exteriores de carabanas cirquenses, con toda la paleta de colores luminosos y bellos diseños. Alfombras y cojines, mantelerías, cortinas, ropa de capa, etc... Imposible resistirse al encanto de la vida en la Provenza en un singular hogar sobre ruedas.

All the red, orange, sunshine yellow and turquoise in their Home collection looked perfect both inside and outside the caravans with all their bright colors and incredible pattern mixes. Rugs, cushions, tablecloths, curtains and bedding! It's impossible to resist the charm of life in Provence with these unique homes on wheels.

Una preciosa casa en un viejo edificio industrial A beautiful house in an old industrial place

¿Quien podía decir que un antiguo edificio industrial podía convertirse en una casa tan bonita? De base blanca y salpicada por notas de color pastel, en gris, verde o rosa, de espacios diáfano y llena de luz. La casa está dividida en dos plantas, y el salón y la cocina se hubican en la planta alta, habuardillada y abierta a la terraza, en un único espacio totalmente diáfano, ¿no es genial?

Who could have imagined that an old industrial factory could become such a beautiful house? This white house has been decorated in a very soft grey and pink colour, and bright green. The house is divided in two stories. The living room and kitchen are on the second floor, in the attic, in a unique open area, connected to the balcony. Isn't it great?

Lo que me encanta de esta habitación

1. Qué es sencilla a la vez que espectacular

Bollitos de calabaza para empezar la semana Pumpkin scones to start the week

Casi, casi, casi tan buenos como los típicos buñuelos de calabaza de España, he descubierto en Australia unas delicias también hechas con calabaza que se hacen llamar 'bollitos de calabaza'. Son muy típicos en la costa oeste del país y lo mejor de todo, super fáciles, rápidos y baratos de hacer: azúcar, harina, un huevo, leche, mantequilla y calabaza, y al horno con ellos.

Este fin de semana he hecho mi segunda tanda de bollitos y no hay mejor manera de comenzar la semana que acompañando mi café con estos deliciosos bollitos de calabaza!

I have found out the delicious pumpkin scones here in Australia! They are almost as good as the typical Spanish small pumpkin doughnuts*, and they are very popular from the WA! They are so easy to make: sugar, self-raising flour, egg, milk, butter and pumpkin, and let's go to the oven!

Last weekend I made my second batch of scones and there is not better way to start this week than having my coffee with these delicious pumpkin scones!

Below the hearts, I've written the pumpkin scone recipe in Spanish, but if you don't understand Spanish and are interested in this easy recipe, here you have the original one in English. Enjoy!!!

*Sorry guys, it's very difficult to beat my grandma's small pumpkin doughnut recipe.

Venga va, os doy la receta para que lo intentéis vosotros también:

Ingredientes:

• 2 1/2 tazas de harina con levadura
• 1 taza de puré de calabaza
• 55g de mantequilla
• 1 huevo
• 1/2 de leche
• 1/2 de azúcar

Receta:

1. Mover la mantequilla hasta que se quede blandita y añadir la azúcar.
2. Añadir el puré de calabaza y un huevo
3. Añadir la leche
4. Añadir poco a poco toda la harina
5. Llenar una bandeja de horno para madalenas con la mezcla untada con mantequilla
6. Hornear a 200º durante 15 minutos
7. ¡Disfrutarlas!

Soy una apasionada de los carteles vintage, desde que en la facultad estudiaba Historia del Cartel Publicitario. Me encanta observar en ellos como ha ido evolucionando el diseño, la estética, la sociedad y la mujer. Y dentro de este tema uno mis favoritos es las portadas de Vogue. Desde que se creó la revista a finales del siglo XIX hasta nuestros días, sus portadas han ilustrado a una mujer diferente en cada época, desde las mujeres de la alta sociedad de los años 20, las amas de casa idealizadas de los 50, la mujer trabajadora de los 70 y la mujer multiracial actual.

Sobre Vogue y sus portadas se han escritos muchos libros, pero el tema que en mi blog toca es cómo integrar aquello que tanto te gusta en la decoración. Y es que si te gusta el cartelismo vintage tanto como a mí, hacerte con una colección de portadas vintage de Vogue y decorar una pared con ellas, dará a tu casa un toque sofisticado con un estilo personal muy marcado y original.

I'm very fond of the vintage posters, since I studied Advertised Poster History in my faculty. I love seeing in them how the design, the aesthetic, the society and the woman have evolved during all of this time. And one of my favorite issues within this theme is the Vogue covers! Since the magazine appeared at the end of the 18th century to nowdays, its covers has illustrated a different woman in every time, since the liberated elite of the 1920s, the idealized housewives of the 1950s, the working everywoman of the 1970s, and today’s multiracial, indefinable woman.

Many books have been written about Vogue and its covers, but the important issue today in my blog is how to decorate with the things that you love (i.e., vintage Vogue covers). If you like vintage posters as much as I do, get a vintage Vogue cover collection and decorate a wall with them at home, the result will be a sophisticated, very personal and original look in your house.

Mis colecciones favoritas son las de los años 20 y 30, cuando todavía no existía la fotografía en color y las portadas eran ilustradas, y muchas de ellas recuerdan estilo modernista propio de comienzos del siglo XX y al Art Nouveau.

My favorite collections are those ones from the 20's and de 30's, when there weren't color photographies and the covers were ilustrated, and most of them are a reminiscent of the Modernism and Art Nouveau.

Ahora bien, ¿cómo puedes hacerte con una colección de portadas de Vogue? Pues aquí te dejo nada más y nada menos que 230 portadas de la edición británica de Vogue, desde 1916 hasta nuestros días para que puedas ir echándole un vistazo y viendo cuales son tu diseños favoritos!

Es verano, hace días de sol, de playa, de calor, y no hay mejor manera dar la bienvenida al verano y celebrar que España haya ganado el Mundial que organizar una fiesta de tapas en el jardin, junto a la piscina.

It's summer, it's time for the sun, the beach, the hot weather, and the best way to welcome the new season and celebrate that Spain has won the World Cup is to organise a tapas paraty in the garden, near the pool.

¿Qué no puede faltar en una fiesta de tapas?

♥ Para beber: por supuesto, sangría! La limonada natural también está deciliosa y mi madre la hace estupenda! Es ideal si hay niños en la fiesta!

♥ Para comer: pues tapas sin duda! Aunque nunca sabes por cual de las deliciosas recetas de tapas decidirte, en mi fiestas de tapas nunca falta:

• tortilla de patatas,
• surtido de croquetas,
• empanada,
• surtido de quesos,
• jamón ibérico,
• y mucho mucho marisco!

How to organise a tapas party?

♥ To drink: sangria, of course! What is a delicious Spanish cocktail made with wine, juice, sugar, soda y a lot of fruit!!! There are many different recipies to make sangria. I leave you a nice one in case you want to try:

If there are children in the party, then you can also make some lemonade: lemon juice, soda, sugar and my mum's special touch, a bit a cinamon.

♥ To eat: no doubt, TAPAS! It's always difficult to decide what delicious tapas recipies choose for your tapas party, but in my party I always like:

• Spanish omelette
• assortment of croquettes
• Galician pie
• assortment of Spanish cheeses
• tasty Spanish ham
• and lots and lofs of seafood!
